After reviewing the proposals from five hotels, provided by the Convention and Visitors Bureau, my nephew and I made the three hour drive to Dayton, OH for site selection. Reservations for 35 rooms at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 33 East Fifth St, for Sept 17-20 2012 have been made. Room rates for standard Double, Queen or King is $99 plus 13% tax, which is $50 off the normal rates. This 14 story hotel has 279 newly renovated guest rooms, including 8 hospitality parlors and two concierge levels. The amenities offered are far too many to list, but to highlight a few: complimentary transportation to Dayton International Airport and within a 5 mile radius locally, valet parking, wireless Internet in roomm, meetting space and lobby, free breakfast, . The meeting room is also complimenterary and we can have food and beverages. They will provide ice, cups, napkins and coffee. Now, for the bad news, I had hoped to have a dinner at the Air Force Museum, but when told the rental alone was $2600 for the evening, catered food was very expensive, I quickly abandoned that idea (sorry, John, but it was too muuch for us). This is just the beginning but wanted you to know that I'm working to fill in the blanks for the itenary. Other news later, Bill
